Glucosamine is an amino sugar that cartilage, tendons, and ligaments need as a basic element. Amongst other things, it stimulates the production of the body’s own building blocks for cartilage, proteoglycans, and glycosaminoglycans. Glucosamines also help the build-up and nourishment of cartilage, joint capsules, tendons, and various other connective tissues. They can help preserve synovial fluids and thus maintain joint lubrication.
